Our Story (the short version)
|
Jing and I first met during residency at the University of
Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. Fate took us both to Kentucky for
Pharmacy Practice Residencies. We clicked, and became instant
friends. We had our first date on September
3rd, 2001. We went to see Moulin Rouge and followed it with a
romantic, home-cooked dinner. That night we danced our first dance
to Hey Jude, by the Beatles. During residency, we worked
together on several projects and committees. We were best known for
our work on the Computer Committee and for devouring chicken wings. |

After Pharmacy Practice Residency, Jing headed to Las Vegas for a position as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Nevada College of Pharmacy. I stayed in Lexington to complete a specialty residency. The long distance relationship was difficult, but our love stretched approximately 2,000 miles for the year we were apart. |

In 2003 we conquered the long-distance relationship. We both live in Las Vegas and working at University of Southern Nevada, College of Pharmacy. We bought a house together and are well settled. Once in the house, we started with our own little wild kingdom with two cats (Ariel and Beru) and one dog (Rosco, the menace). |

In March 2005 we went to China with family and friends. On March 19th we had a traditional Chinese wedding banquet. The banquet was held at the Shanghai Peace Hotel at the rooftop garden. It was truly an amazing experience. The picture to the right is outside the garden, on the rooftop of the Peace Hotel. In the background you can see "The Bund" on the west side of the Huang Pu river. | In front of God and our friends and family, Jing and I promised to love and honor each other for the rest of our lives. The day was April 2, 2005 and the place was St. Peters, Missouri. It was truly the second most amazing day of my life (at the time it was the most amazing, but the birth of our twins beats it out). Everything was amazing. Jing was even more beautiful than usual. Everything didn't go as planned, but everything was perfect. It was great to see so much of our hard work come together. If you want to hear a funny story, ask us what the significance is April 4, 2005. |

On March 22nd, 2007 our family doubled in size with the addition of Amelia Yun-Ting and Madeline Yun-Ping Hecht. Our girls came into this world a little earlier than planned (they were 4 weeks early), but both are very healthy. They have brought so much joy, laughter, and fun into our lives (they've also brought a lot of diapers, sleepless nights, and laundry). For more about Amelia and Madeline (including lots of pictures and videos) visit their corner of jingandkeith.com. |
